What is the Orix Academy Mission Statement?
To create alternative pathways for players seeking opportunities to play at a university level.
Does Orix assess players before accepting them?
Yes, players wishing to join Orix Academy will be assessed to determine they are able to play at the required level.
Where can I find information regarding tryouts?
Information regarding tryouts can be found under the Programs & Teams tab.
Will Orix Academy still assist me with college recruitment even if I am not a player in the academy?
Yes, Orix assists non academy players on a player by player basis. Complete the PLAYER EVALUATION form found under the COLLEGE RECRUITMENT tab and you will be contacted by an Orix representative.
Training & Games
In which league does Orix Academy play their matches?
Orix Academy plays league matches in Men’s Adult Leagues and plays friendly matches during the year against, top amateur clubs and university programs.
What is the location for Orix Academy training sessions?
Orix training sessions take place mostly in Downtown and South Vancouver but field and gymnasium availability determines days and times.
Do I have to attend every training session?
It is recommended as training performance determines playing time.
Can I play for Orix Academy and another team at the same time?
Uniforms & Training Kits
Do players have to purchase training kits and match uniforms?
Each player who is selected for Orix is provided with a free training kit. Match uniforms are provided for league play but must be returned when the player leaves the program. A uniform deposit fee of $100 is required prior to receiving the match uniform.
Registration & Refunds
Can I opt out of Orix Academy at any point and join again later if I wish?
Yes, you can opt out at any point, however, rejoining is dependent on available roster spots at the time you wish to rejoin.
Can I be released from Orix Academy?
Yes, players are assessed every 6 months to ensure they are training and performing at the required standard. Players who are not meeting expectations will be released.
Does Orix offer prorated refunds?
